Massive Seafood Sale going on now!

Why buy a Straub’s Turkey, is there really a difference between fresh and frozen turkeys? Well, I’m glad you asked. Here’s what our Butcher Joe Lucas has to say on the matter,

“Fresh versus frozen turkeys? Oh, there’s no comparison. It’s like night and day! Fresh turkeys have a lot better flavor. They’re all-natural and free range. I sell about 70,000 lbs a year and people love them because they’re the best. Straub’s turkeys are unbelievably good because that’s what we do.”

How to properly cook a turkey is one of the first questions you will have when hosting Thanksgiving. Don’t worry, Straub’s has you covered! Click the link below to learn an easy and delicious way to cook your Straub’s Turkey:

Tips for a Happy Turkey Day

*Try this idea out, “What’s the all-time best Thanksgiving tip? Roast the turkey upside down. It’ll protect the breast from overcooking, and juices will seep down and keep it moist.”

*Save a turkey! What should you serve vegetarians? Don’t worry about to-furkey! Make a Butternut Squash lasagna, and all your guests will enjoy.

*You can figure out what size turkey you will need by calculating one pound per adult.

*Keep Pumpkin Pie from cracking by baking just until the filling is barely set in the center, but firm at the edges.

* Need a basic gravy recipe? Sauté 1/4 cup of turkey fat or butter and 1/4 cup of flour. Pour in 4 cups of hot broth. Whisk until it suits your consistency. Season.

*Keep your food warm for your late guests by covering and keeping it in an oven at 200 degrees for up to  30 minutes. Baste with chicken broth if it gets dry.
