    Gundlach Bundschu Mountain Cuvée
“Ever since I started tasting these wines, consistency has been the factor for this particular blend. It is juicy and fruit forward, but not so much as to turn off the trained wine drinker. Aromas of herbs, dried earth, anise and hints of leather. Dark fruits and herbs are evident in the mouth as this wine rolls on the palate. This all points to a complex wine at a great price. Enjoy!”
    – Peter Glarner, C.S.W. (Webster Groves)

    750 mL. bottles, $17.49 each

    Llama Malbec 2011
“This outstanding Argentinian Malbec combines fullness and fruit with good balance and structure. Six months in French oak adds traditional European flavor.”
    – Mark Lauenstein (Central West End)

    750 mL. bottles, $13.99 each

    Foris Pinot Noir Oregon 2009
“Approachable yet serious, this wine easily competes with Pinots in the $25 range. Rich, ripe fruit with a velvety texture and earthiness. Pairs well with roasted red meats or by itself!”
    – Chris Young (Clayton)

    750 mL. bottles, $16.99 each

    Spellbound Petite Sirah 2010
“Smooth, juicy, and fruity with a hint of chocolate and coffee. This wine is perfect for Halloween parties. Let yourself be spellbound!”
    – Ken Etzkorn (Town & Country)

    750 mL. bottles, $14.99 each

  • Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2012 will arrive in stores Thursday, November 15th. Offer this lovely wine at your seasonal gatherings! Deliciously fruity, clean-tasting and hearty, this red wine originates in the Beaujolais region of France. Made from handpicked Gamay grapes, Beaujolais Nouveau tastes best slightly chilled and fresh from the vineyard. Compared to regular Beaujolais, this variety is much lighter, low in tannins, high in acid, and boasts a hint of strawberry.

    Pairing Ideas

Due to its light flavor, Beaujolais is usually considered a cross-over wine. It is often treated like a white wine, but paired with foods that are too sweet or spicy for typical white varietals.

    Pair with dishes containing:

    • simple, sweet pork
    • spicy, full-flavored poultry
    • rich, full-flavored steak or lamb

    Pair with the following cheeses:

    • Asiago
    • Brick
    • Brie
    • Camembert
    • Edam
    • Feta
    • Fontina
    • Gouda
    • Gruyère
    • Havarti
    • Monterey Jack
    • Mozzarella (all types)
    • Provolone
    • Swiss

    Try to avoid dishes containing:

    • seafood, unless it’s a mild dish
    • heavy cream sauces

    750 mL bottles, $10.99 each
